Are you doing these 3 simple things?

Trying really hard to decrease body fat? Have you tried these simple things?


Eat breakfast! You've probably heard this one a million times. But how does this work? How does it make sense that by eating more we can lose fat? Think of it this way: how is it that our body has energy to do things like run, walk, lift weights etc?


Yes, food! Our metabolism works in just this same way. It needs an input of energy to run efficiently. By not eating breakfast in the morning, our body's metabolism struggles to begin burning off fuel. So by eating breakfast first thing in the morning you start your metabolism right away to begin burning fuel for energy.


What's next? Drink water! Notice how the title doesn't refer to "losing weight". The number on the scale should not be our main focus, but rather our body composition. By drinking more water you might "weigh more", but that weight is water.


On top of this, water can help you feel fuller and help prevent you from overeating. Many times we think we feel hungry, but in reality we might just be thirsty. Water is essential to carry out various biological processes in the body while some studies have even found it to increase metabolism. By drinking more water we can eat healthier amounts, aid our immune system and more.


Lastly, sleep! Sleep allows our body to recover. Have you ever tried sleeping to help lose body fat? Our carbohydrate and fat metabolism, among pretty much all of our biological processes, rely on our hormone regulation. When we are awake at night or eating late this signals to our body that it's daytime. Additionally, when we are tired our hunger hormones (ghrelin) tend to increase signaling that we need food when in reality we might not. By allowing your body adequate amounts of rest and sleep these processes are more regulated allowing for more efficient work in our body.
